últimas noticias de la compañía sobre LED Application Scenarios: Why the 3W 3535 IR LED at 810nm Beats 850nm and 940nm in Night Cameras

Half of every night-vision image is invisible. The camera sensor, the lens and the housing get the spec sheet; the light doing the work sits quietly in the bezel, emitting nothing the human eye can see. In 2026 the fastest-moving LED application scenarios in security and machine vision all depend on that hidden light source — and the wavelength chosen decides how far, how clean and how power-hungry the picture becomes. For most of them the answer is the 3W 3535 IR LED at 810 nm.

Five LED Application Scenarios Driving IR Demand

  1. Bullet and dome CCTV — 6 to 24 emitters per camera, on all night, so radiant efficiency per watt decides the heatsink size.
  2. ANPR and license plate recognition — retro-reflective plates need narrow, high-contrast illumination to keep the OCR error rate down.
  3. Smart doorbells and battery cameras — battery-powered devices trade range against current draw, making 810 nm the efficient middle ground.
  4. Machine vision and industrial inspection — strobed IR reveals surface defects and fill levels that white light washes out.
  5. In-cabin driver monitoring — invisible illumination for eye tracking and drowsiness detection without distracting the driver.

Featured Model: 3W 3535 SMD IR LED, 810 nm

The 3535 SMD LED IR puts a high-power infrared die into a 3.5 × 3.5 × 2.36 mm ceramic-footprint package. At a test condition of 700 mA it emits 300–500 mW of radiant power at a peak wavelength of 810 nm, with a forward voltage of just 1.4–1.7 V and a 120° beam that pairs cleanly with a 30° or 45° secondary lens. Rise time is under 100 ns, so the same part can be strobed in sync with a camera shutter instead of running continuously.

810 nm vs 850 nm vs 940 nm: Picking the Right Wavelength

Wavelength Silicon sensor response Visible glow Best for
810 nm Very high Faint red ANPR, long-range bullets, machine vision
850 nm Highest Faint red General CCTV, doorbells, cost-driven designs
940 nm Lower None Covert, in-cabin, sleep-safe installations

Silicon CMOS peaks near 850–900 nm, so 810 nm sits on the responsive shoulder of the curve: it needs roughly 20–30% less radiant power than 940 nm to reach the same exposure, which is why 810 nm cameras hold contrast further out on a dark road. The trade-off is a faint red glow at the bezel; for fully covert installations, 940 nm remains the right call.

Three Design Notes Before You Spec In

  • Thermal path first — high current density in a small die means a metal-core PCB with a solid thermal pad is not optional in a sealed housing.
  • Drive it constant-current — VF drifts between 1.4 and 1.7 V with temperature, so resistor-only drive wastes headroom.
  • Match the lens to the job — the native 120° beam suits wide domes, while a 30° lens concentrates the same 300–500 mW into the range ANPR actually needs.

Where These IR Chips Come From: Dongguan Lanjin Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

The 3535 IR series is produced by Dongguan Lanjin Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., an LED manufacturer founded in 2005 with a 2,500 m² plant in Dongguan, Guangdong. Eighteen years of SMD packaging experience sits behind the line: ISO 9001:2015 quality management, a purified anti-static workshop, two national invention patents, twelve utility model patents, 99.99% pure gold wire bonding, 500KK pieces monthly and an 80–90% export customer base. Beyond the 3535 platform, the catalogue spans top and side view SMD LED, bi-color and RGB SMD LED, through hole LED, UV chips and 7-segment displays, all RoHS and REACH compliant.

These IR wavelengths are impossible to judge by eye, so every reel is binned on measured peak wavelength and radiant power rather than appearance. Custom wavelengths, narrower viewing angles and matched sets for multi-emitter cameras can be sampled in days. LED lights the world, Lanjin lights your life.

Buyer note: when comparing IR quotes, ask for three numbers on the same datasheet — peak wavelength bin, radiant power at your drive current, and the rise time. Cameras are judged at night, not on a catalog page.
